What to Specify in Terms and Conditions when Starting a Web Store.

Before starting a new  web shop (webwinkel  in Dutch) one of the most important point one needs to consider is the terms and conditions or the policies regarding the store. There are many loop holes which can affect the smooth running of a web store. Here is a guideline on what exactly should be given in Terms and Conditions.

First and foremost is the customer satisfaction, which is one of the purposes of the web store. Next comes the product availability and policies regarding warranty and guarantee of the product. One of the most important things one needs to specify is the return/exchange policy of the product and then comes the mode of payment. Here one should also write about extra taxes and handling and postages.

The instructions of ‘How to order?’ should also be specified including the area to which you are catering. Any policies regarding the cancellation of the order should be given alongside. One should also write any disclaimer or indemnifications note which tells about any damage or loss regarding the delivery of the ordered products. The approximate time it will take to reach the order should be also given.

When starting a web shop (webwinkel beginnen in Dutch) you can also specify about the right to change the terms and conditions and the right to cancel or refuse any order. You can also set up a notification link if someone wishes to see the status of the delivery. It will be easier for you if you are clear about the jurisdiction area in case any legal formality crops up.

Lastly one has to satisfy the customer by telling that their personal information will not be used for any other purposes.
